Abstract

Palliative care is an essential component of modern healthcare, and its importance continues to grow due to population ageing and the increasing number of patients living with serious illnesses. This trend highlights the need to strengthen palliative care education, particularly within undergraduate nursing programmes. The NursEduPal@Euro (IMPACT) project was established as an international Erasmus+ initiative aimed at defining European core competencies in palliative care for nursing students and developing innovative educational tools to support their acquisition. This article presents the main outcomes of the project and discusses opportunities for their implementation in the Czech Republic, with a particular focus on nursing education and the development of general palliative care competencies. The findings demonstrate that European educational resources can be successfully adapted to the Czech healthcare environment and contribute to improving the quality of life of patients and their families.
